Rechargeable Nickel–Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery for general-purpose applications that require a rechargeable cell. The cell stores energy electrochemically and is intended to be recharged with compatible charging equipment; when charged and maintained using appropriate practices it can be cycled repeatedly. Suitable for use where a reusable secondary cell is required, this chemistry is widely used in portable instruments and devices that accept NiMH cells.
