The dressing is a multi‑layer flat pad with a superabsorbent core that draws in and retains exudate to help maintain a moist wound environment. It is non‑adhesive and designed for use with appropriate primary contact layers and secondary fixation; the flat construction also allows use under compression bandaging when clinically indicated and applied per instructions for use.
